PBL
Two abbreviations for two wonderful strategies for the classroom. Both these types of learning are quite similar, and in fact the terms are often used interchangeably. Both provide practice building the 4 C’s of 21st Century learning skills. PBL requires all students to collaborate, use critical thinking skills, communicate their findings, and think creatively. In addition, solving problems and completing these projects engage cross-curricular skills and show students real life value to the things they learn in the classroom.
Problem-Based Learning
Escape rooms, STEM challenges and other problem-based activities are highly engaging and great opportunities to review and reteach information, as well as engage critical thinking skills.
Project-based learning requires students to apply several different skills they have learned and to engage deeply with a project, often inspired by real life issues.
